ASSISTANCE FOR PREACHER STUDENTS AT FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE Through the generosity of a brother in Christ who is interested in helping young men purposing to preach the gospel to get an education, Florida Christian College is happy to announce the establishment of an Assistance Fund for the next school year. For those whose financial status warrants it, full tuition may be had. Others will be granted aid in terms of financial needs on a graduated scale. Only those planning to preach are eligible for assistance from this particular fund.

A letter or post card addressed to Florida Christian College, Temple Terrace Station, Tampa 4, Florida, will bring full information on how one may qualify for and receive benefit from this fund. Interested persons should contact the college immediately.

J. T. Marlin, Mayfield, Kentucky, July 30: "Four were baptized and five restored at Leipers Fork. The crowds were large; the singing was as good as I have ever heard, under the direction of Marion Davis of Fayette, Alabama. I am now in a meeting at Rich Pond, Kentucky."

—O—

Franklin T. Puckett, Calico Rock, Arkansas, July 27: "I have recently conducted meetings with the Fisher Street church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the Second and Walnut Streets church in Paragould. There were three baptized and three restored in the first, and one baptized in the second. Harlan Hurd preaches for the church in Jonesboro, and J. A. McNutt in Paragould. Both men are doing excellent work. I am now in a meeting with the church in Bandana, Kentucky."

S. L. Edwards, Box 745, La Marque, Texas, Aug. 3: "On July 31, I closed a meeting at the Carbondale congregation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I labored from 1946 till 1949. There were ten baptisms and five restorations. Brother Glendon Walker is the faithful preacher there now, and much of the success of the meeting can be attributed to the hard work which he did."

James R. Lundy, Jr., Box 87, Charleston, Ind., July 28: "We are in the midst of a good meeting with Jesse M. Kelley. Several outsiders attending, but no responses as yet. Last Lord's day was the best in the history of the congregation, both in attendance and contribution. The work here is slowly gaining. Pray for us as we work in the vineyard of Christ. Contact me if you need anyone to hold your meeting in 1952."

Jesse M. Kelley, 2905 Wingate Ave., Nashville 11, Tenn.: "My meeting work for 1951 will come to a close September 13 with a meeting at Summitville, Tenn. With that meeting our work will have taken us into five states where we have endeavored to condemn sin and "isms" both within and without the church. With the close of our meeting work we will be in a position to accept local work with some congregation. No arrangements have been made as yet. We intend to go somewhere west."

William R. Ward, Booneville, Miss., July 27: "Edward J. Craddock of Nashville, Tenn., closed a ten-day meeting with the Booneville church last Tuesday night. Interest and attendance were far beyond expectation. It was the best in the history of the congregation. Each night the auditorium was nearly filled; the morning attendance numbered a hundred or more each service. The evening services were broadcast over the local radio station. Cards and letters indicated the radio audience to be several thousand. There were twenty-seven responses; seven baptisms and twenty restorations. Our vacation Bible school begins in approximately two weeks."

J. M. Gillpatrick, 718 N. Somerville, Pampa, Texas, July 27: "The work of the Central church here in Pampa continues to show growth and progress in almost every way. Peace and harmony exist in the congregation and about fifteen have been baptized since the middle of March. We have a regular broadcast on the new station here, KPAT, 1230 kilocycles, at 9:00 o'clock on Saturday morning. All are invited to worship with us when in Pampa."

Dale Sexson, 145 N. Country Club Road, Tucson, Ariz.: "The City of Tucson is beginning a boom that will offer many thousands of jobs both skilled and unskilled. Howard Hughes is building an electronic plant here that will employ five thousand men by the first of January. Many of this number will be transferred here while several will be hired on the ground. The Air Base here has approval from Congress for a twenty million dollar expansion program. This of course will require many jobs. The Grand Central Aircraft Company, located here is just getting under full production and is hiring new people most every day. There is some other work that is also starting but this may give one an idea of what is before this place. Tucson offers much for the health seeker. The church here offers much for the faithful child of God. If I can be of any service to anyone I shall be happy to do so. The church meeting at 10 and Country Club Road is a good church and free from trouble of any kind. We will be most happy to have you worship with us while in our City."

M. C. Cuthbertson, Los Angeles, California, July 31: "The month of July was, in many respects, one of our best in our work together. Two men were recently baptized, one of whom had preached some for the Baptists; and will make a useful man we believe. Five placed membership with us during the month. Our contributions were the largest for any one month in some time. I preached at Fontana last Sunday evening, and brother Herman Campbell spoke here at Central. Brother Alvin Hamilton is doing splendid work at Fontana. Brethren Melvin Rose and Johnnie Luker, two of our young men, are preaching often at nearby places.

—O—

Brother Roy E. Cogdill begins a meeting Sunday at Birch and Fairview, Santa Ana, where Floyd Thompson preaches. Both preacher and church of the best in this section. Greetings and best wishes to all of you."

—O—

H. F. Manchester, Rising Star, Texas, July 28: "Our meeting came to a close last Lord's day evening. Mack Kercheville of El Paso did the preaching and it was of the best. Two were baptized and the church was edified in the faith. We baptized four just two weeks before the meeting began. I have accepted the work with the church in Comanche, Texas, and will begin the first Sunday in September the Lord willing. The Gospel Guardian gets better all the time. Keep up the good work."
