Thornton Crews, Route 5, Box 664, Pensacola, Florida: "This is to say that I have finished four years work with the Bellview congregation in Pensacola.

July 7th we started a brand new work in the Myrtle Grove area. July 14th the East Hill congregation donated a tent meeting toward this effort and the Bellview congregation agreed to underwrite my salary for a period of time. We started with 36 in Bible study and 43 in worship the first Lord's Day with a contribution of $165.02. Our attendance has increased from Lord's Day to Lord's Day. Cards were handed out on August 11th asking for cash donations, promises or pledges, loans and bonds. Well over $10,000 was pledged that day toward the new building which will be erected on our new lots donated by Brother B. C. Duval on 77th Avenue and. Lillian Highway in Myrtle Grove. This building will be brick veneer, modern in every sense and when completed one of the best church plants owned by the brethren in this vicinity. The prospect of the new work is very fine, indeed. The brethren that make up this congregation seem to have a mind to work and a desire to build a strong New Testament church and that certainly is our purpose to the fullest degree.

We left the Bellview congregation with an auditorium that they had when we came on the scene, new classrooms and a splendid educational building that was finished last year — and a plant worth from $35,000 on which they owe about $6,000. We wish them every success in the future."
