What Is Your View Of Life?

Wilbur Hunt, Palmetto, Florida

The view of life that you have will determine the way that you think. The way that you think will determine your words and actions, and your character. Your religion is the way that you live each day.

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Prov. 23:7a.) "For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble's bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." (Luke 6:43-45.)

Luke 10:25-37 is the story of the Good Samaritan. Is your view of life that of the robbers? "What you have I will take." Is your view of life that of the priest and the Levite? "What I have I will keep for myself." Is your view of life that of the Good Samaritan? "What I have I will share with you." Is your life of a selfish or an unselfish nature? Is your life of a materialistic or a spiritual nature? Is your life godly or ungodly? Is your life a picture of Christianity or non-Christianity?

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word (the things that you say and write; words are powerful things), in conversation (manner or way of life each day), in charity (love), in spirit (attitude), in faith, in purity." (I Tim. 4:12.) "Lay hands suddenly on no man (be careful of your associations, and choose wisely), neither be partakers of other men's sins: KEEP THYSELF PURE." (I Tim. 5:22.) "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the ends for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourself according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as he which called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy." (I Peter 1:13-16.)

Let us be careful of the way that we think because it will determine our character and final destiny, and try to act as a Christian should. Think on these things!
