Thornton Crews, Route 5, Box 664, Pensacola, Florida, May 11: "I am entering the Baptist Hospital here this afternoon for the removal of much of the upper colon. I have had one of the most thorough X-ray and Fluoroscope examinations that medical science can give, and this is the verdict. They say I will be all right in a short time. I will appreciate the prayers of my friends and brethren. Will be glad to have cards and letters from those who care to write."

Ivan R. Stewart, 2218 Madeira Drive, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 7: "I moved from West Hyattsville, Maryland to Albuquerque, New Mexico and began work with the Netherwood Park congregation on May 2. They have just completed an addition to their building, which is just two years old. They hope to double their Bible School attendance within the next few months. When traveling through Albuquerque, plan to worship with us."

John Bullock, BOX 484, Lewisville, Texas, May 12: "Just closed a good meeting with the church in Lindale, Texas. Three were baptized and eleven restored. R. Jay Taylor is the local evangelist there. My associations with Brother Taylor and many other gospel preachers added much to my enjoyment while there. Roy Cogdill is to do the preaching in our meeting here June 15-23. We are anticipating a great meeting in every way. Our meeting and Vacation Bible School will be conducted simultaneously. We invite all in this area to keep our meeting date in mind and attend."

M. A. Mansur, 1405 Richardson, Columbia, Missouri, May 12: "The Lord continues to bless the work of His saints at the Paris Road Church of Christ, here in Columbia; for which we give thanks unto the Lord. The attendance at the morning services the past few weeks has been encouraging — having had an average attendance of 122, and only four weeks ago a record of 132 was reached. The average weekly contribution for the month of April was $194.21, which shows the members are supporting the church, as all Christians should and will do, when they build upon the foundation of Christ Jesus and abide continually in His Word, and His Word only. Brethren, if you are looking for a nice place to live and work for the Lord, move up here to Columbia, the educational center and heart of Missouri. When traveling, stop over and worship with these faithful Christians, and pray for us."

Granville Jones, Box 364, Stinnett, Texas, May 11: "Robert Bankes of Kilgore, Texas, closed a meeting with us Wednesday, May 5th, resulting in two baptisms. Brother Bankes proclaimed the Gospel faithfully and the church has been strengthened by the timely lessons presented. Two more baptisms Sunday, May 9th, making a total of 15 baptisms, 14 restorations, and five to identify with us this year. We praise God for this increase. Work goes forward on the addition to our building. Plan to worship with us when coming this way."

Ernest A. Finley, Wichita, Kansas, May 11, 1954: "The Fox and Lake Church in Carlsbad, New Mexico, has extended an invitation to me to work with them beginning June 6th. We are anticipating a pleasant association with this fine congregation. My last meeting was with the church at Douglass, Kansas. My wife and I, with several other teachers, recently assisted the Cleveland Avenue Church here in Wichita in a teacher training course. My summer meetings are: Durant, Oklahoma, June 21; Weiland, Texas, July 19; Aloha, Oregon, August 15 (tentative date)."

D. M. McQuiddy, 821 Heil Ave., El Centro, California, May 10: "In two and one-half years this congregation has grown from a struggling group of about fifty members to an established church of our Lord. We now number one hundred and fifty members, with two fine scriptural elders and three very industrious deacons. The church is carrying on a full time gospel broadcast over a local radio station and helping to support another gospel broadcast in the Imperial Valley. It is the plans of the elders to increase our mission program to cover various other fields in the Master's work. It has been my privilege to have a part in this wonderful growth for which I am indeed grateful and give all glory to God and His Word. If at any time you come our way we invite you to worship with us. It will be our pleasure to welcome you."

Elvis E. Bozarth, T/Sgt. USMC, HqBn Special Services, 1st Marine Division, FMF, c/o FPO, San Francisco, California, May 6: "Christians stationed in the Seoul area are requesting permission to hold a "spiritual retreat" for members of the church of Christ in Korea during July. Tentative plans are to hold it at the 22nd Signal Group Chapel where Brother David Sprague is Chaplain. It will be seven to eight days duration, with Bible classes daily, and preaching each night. Such programs are encouraged by Armed Forces authorities, and have been allowed various religious groups in the services all over the world. We hope to have at least two preachers from Japan with us. Those of you who know of members of the church in Korea are requested to write immediately. Those who have written previously need not do so again. The servicemen may possibly need some proof of church affiliation to obtain temporary additional duty orders to Seoul, so it may be profitable for elders of home churches to write the men acknowledging 'church membership.' Additional clothing for Korean Christians in the Seoul area is not needed at present. There are many signs of progress among them, and we hope the work will continue to grow. Brother Dale Richeson from Japan is expected in Korea for a visit very soon."
