BIBLE CHAIR ESTABLISHED AT TEXAS UNIVERSITY The University Avenue Church of Christ of Austin, Texas, with the aid and assistance of other congregations, has established a Bible Chair at the University of Texas beginning with the school term opening in September, 1951. The Bible Chair will be conducted under the direction of the elders of the University Avenue Church and will be taught by Ray McGlothlin, Jr., a graduate of Abilene Christian College and the University of Texas. Brother McGlothlin has served as assistant minister at the University Avenue Church of Christ for the past two years and has broad experience in the field of teaching and in student life. The courses to be offered to freshmen and sophomore students are Survey of the Old Testament, Survey of the New Testament, and The Life and Teachings of Jesus. Each year more than 400 students enrolled in the University of Texas list the Church of Christ as their membership or preference. The need is great to provide this large number of students with the ample opportunity to be taught the truth. There is a challenge to every congregation within the state to support the Biblechair and to furnish the names and addresses of students from their respective congregations who are enrolling in the University for the school year 1951-52. The parents of students are urged to encourage these young men and young women to enroll and to take advantage of the teaching offered. The classes will be held at the church building, 1903 University Avenue.
