New Congregations

Batesville, Arkansas — "A new congregation met for the first time Sunday, February 2nd, at Batesville, Arkansas. This congregation will be meeting about one and one half miles east on the Newark road. Thirty one were in attendance with a contribution of near 65.00. Norris Hagger delivered the morning address and James A. Bruce delivered the evening message. This is the only loyal congregation in Independence County. The future for this small group looks good. No doubt persecution and adversity will be theirs, but the eternal reward far more than justifies their efforts. These brethren merit and solicit our concern and efforts." This was taken from the Eastside Bulletin, Baytown, Texas, where H. L. Bruce, preaches.

Center, Texas — The new congregation in Center started with five families. At present they are meeting in the homes of the members, but hope to have a permanent place before long. To contact them write: Winston B. Fields, 412, Austin Street, Center, Texas.
