Some "Sevens" Of Salvation

I. We Must Hear:

1. "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." Matt. 11:15; Matt. 13:9, 43; Mk. 4:9, 23; Lk. 8:8.

2. "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." Matt. 17:5.

3. "Hear me all of you and understand." Mk. 7:14.

4. "....and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized." Acts 18:8.

5. "So belief cometh of hearing and hearing by the word of God." Rom 19:17.

6. "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination." Prov. 28:9.

7. "Incline your ear and come unto me; hear and your soul shall live." Isa. 55:3.

II. We Must Believe:

1. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth shall be condemned." Mk. 16:16.

2. "But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name." Jno. 1:12.

3. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life." Jno. 3:16.

4. "He that believeth on him is not condemned." Jno. 3:18.

5. "....if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." Jno. 8:24.

6. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:31.

7. "....for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him." Heb. 11:6.

III. We Must Repent:

1. "From that time began Jesus to preach, and say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Mat 4:17.

2. "Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish." Lk. 13:3.

3. "....Repent ye and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38.

4. "Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." Acts 3:19.

5. "Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee." Acts 17:30.

6. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness;....not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Pet. 3:9.

7. "....be zealous therefore and repent" Rev. 3:19.

IV. We Must Confess:

1. "Everyone therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I confess before my Father who is in heaven." Matt. 10:32.

2. "....Everyone who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man confess before the angels of God." Lk. 12:8.

3. "....if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Rom. 10:9.

4. "....And every tongue shall confess to God." Rom. 14:11.

5. "....every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:11.

6. "....every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God." 1 Jno. 4:2-3.

7. "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God." 1 Jno. 4:15.

V. We Must Be Baptized:

1. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matt. 28:19.

2. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Mk. 16-16.

3. "Repent ye and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. " Acts 2:38.

4. "And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ?' Acts 10:48.

5. "And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name." Acts 22:16.

6. "....are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore through baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life." Rom. 6:3-4.

7. "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ." Gal. 3:27.

VI. We Must Grow In Righteousness Or In The Christian Grace.

1. (The Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount include the elements of the Christian graces.) Matt. 5:3-11.

2."But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness self-control; against such there is no law." Gal. 5:22-23.

3."Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Phil. 4:8.

4."Flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Tim. 2:22.

5."Be subject therefore unto God ; .... Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh unto you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts.. ....To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is a sin." Jas. 4:7-8, 17.

6."And for this very cause (that ye may be partakers of the divine nature) adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply (1) VIRTUE; and in your virtue (2) KNOWLEDGE; and in your knowledge (3) SELF-CONTROL; and in your self-con- -trot (4) PATIENCE; and in your patience (5) GODLINESS; and in your godliness (6) BROTHERLY KINDNESS; and in your brotherly kindness (7) LOVE." 2 Pet 3:18.

(Here the Christian graces are summed up in seven)

7."But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Pet.3:18.

VII. We Must Endure To The End:

1. "....he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved." Matt. 10:22.

2. "But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved." Matt. 24:13.

3. "....he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved." Mk. 13:13.

4. "....whose house (Christ's) are we if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end." Heb. 3:6.

5. "For we are become partakers of Christ if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end." Heb. 3:14.

6. "And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of the hope even to the end that ye be....imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." Heb. 6:11-12.

7. "And he that overcometh and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations." Rev. 3:26.
